Today we are going to tell you about the Nijut Moina Scheme 2025 is a special initiative by the Assam government to support girl students in pursuing higher education. This scheme is Launched by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on October 6, 2024.
Nijut Moina Scheme 2025 aims to provide financial help to the girls assam in studying in schools, colleges, and postgraduate programs. With a budget of ₹1,500 crore, the scheme plans to benefit around 10 lakh female students across Assam, encouraging them to continue their education and build a brighter future.

The main goal of the Nijut Moina Scheme is encourage girls to pursue higher education after Class 10 and Class 12 and reduce the dropout rate among female students due to financial problems. This scheme empower girls to become self-reliant and confident. And fight against the social issues like child marriage by promoting education through Nijut Moina Scheme and Improve gender equality in Assam by ensuring more girls complete their education without financial problem

Eligibility Criteria
- To benefit from the Nijut Moina Scheme 2025, girls must meet the following conditions:
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Only female students are eligible.
- The applicant must be enrolled in a government or government-aided school, college, or institution in Assam.
- Unmarried girls are eligible (except for postgraduate and B.Ed students, where married girls may also apply).
- applicant must perform well academically and attend classes regularly.
- Daughters of government officials are not eligible.
- Students enrolled in private institutions cannot apply.
- Married girls are generally not eligible, except in specific cases like postgraduate or B.Ed programs.

Financial Assistance
- Nijut Moina Scheme provides monthly stipends to eligible girls, depending on their level of education:Class 11 and 12 Students: ₹1,000 per month for 10 months.
- Postgraduate Students: ₹2,500 per month.
- Undergraduate Students (1st and 2nd Year): ₹1,250 per month.
- The money is transferred directly to the student’s bank account on the 11th of every month (except during holidays) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

- The Assam government has allocated ₹1,500 crore to support this scheme over five years, with ₹300 crore for the first year.
- this scheme is expected to benefit 10 lakh girls, reduce child marriage rates, and increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) for girls in Assam.
